Country Kids Online has been created to give 8 -14 year old children who like animals and the countryside, a safe cyber place to visit.  The personal message system has been disabled on CKO for the majority of our members.  This has been done in the interests of safety because we believe that the vast majority of problems which occur on the internet involving children, also involve private messages.  For this reason we also don't allow Facebook, Twitter, AIM etc links on the site. Because of this, we are confident that undesirable people will not be interested in trying to join the site and therefore we don't require parents to print off and send forms containing personal details such as their address, because we understand that you may be wary of sending such details over the internet.  If you have any questions regarding the site, please contact admin@countrykidsonline.co.uk

The registration form includes an area for the email address of a child's parent or guardian - this will ensure that we can contact you quickly if the need should ever arise. Email addresses are visible to the member they belong to and staff - no other members can see them.

The forum is moderated by experienced moderators alongside our junior moderators who are chosen from out membership.  We do allow certain external links onsite - these are to sites such as National Geographic for Kids. While we have chosen these links carefully, we cannot be held responsible for the links which your child may then follow from those sites.

Occasionally something may be mentioned on site by a child which gives us cause for concern. Should this happen, we will send a message to the child suggesting they speak to an adult family member or their teacher about their problem. If they are unwilling to do this, in the majority of cases we will contact you at the email address provided.

CKO staff will interact will your child the way we would with our own children/grandchildren - which means they'll be praised or told off when the situation warrants it!  Please do NOT allow your child to register unless you are happy with everything contained within these Parent notes, Rules and Terms/Privacy.  We request that a parent or guardian supervises the child's registration to CKO.  Thank you for taking the time to read these notes.
