RULES.

1. Bad language.
You know the words that you'd get in trouble for using at school? Well that's nothing compared to the trouble you'll get into if you use them here, so don't even try it.

2. Never ask for details about another member and never give them your details. That means - your real name, where you live, your school or anything that would help them figure out who you really are. Most people are good but a few of them aren't - we do our best to keep you safe but anything we do will be wasted if you give anyone your details. If another member asks for this sort of information about you, tell a member of staff. It's OK to say things like "I live in Kent" or "I live in Newcastle" because that doesn't really help anyone who is trying to guess who you are. So what happens if you get really friendly with someone on the site who lives in the same town as you and you'd like to meet them? If you have both been here quite a long time and staff have got to know you, you can both contact Admin saying the username of the member you'd like to meet. Staff will then contact your parents/guardians and it will be up to them to decide if a meeting can be arranged.

3. Short forum posts. Because your 'status' on CKO is partly decided by how many posts you make, it is tempting to do lots of one word or very short posts just to increase your totals. We understand that some threads, like word games, only need one word answers but if staff think someone is only posting to increase their post count, that person will get a warning.

4. Bullying. If you feel that someone is being nasty to you anywhere on the CKO site, you MUST tell a member of staff. Everyone is here to enjoy themselves and we wont accept bullying of any type. Obviously it's OK for people to disagree with something you've said, as long as they do it in a polite way.

5. Keep your username and password safe. If you tell them to a friend and they come here and post something nasty - YOU will get the blame!

6. Linking. For reasons of your safety and site security, only Barn Cats and above are allowed to add links to other sites. If any links are posted to Social Networking/offensive sites then the post will be removed.

7. Text-talk.  Madmini is old-fashioned and can't cope with text talk, it fries her brain. So while brb, g2g etc is OK in the chatterbox, please write properly on posts. We aren't the spelling police and mistakes don't matter but lazy spelling does because it sets a bad example to our younger members.

8. Lies. Don't tell lies or whinge - MM reckons they are also brain-fryers and serve no purpose on CKO!!!

There now - they weren't so bad were they?

The Rules are important - here at CKO we are all part of a team and we all need to look out for each other.
By sticking to the Rules you will help to keep it a safe place for us all to enjoy.
